Thank you for taking the time to visit the music section of my site. Here you can feel free to browse a very light sampling of some of my past work, as well as take a sneak listen in on some of my more current DEMOs. Below you will see several music players divided by genre, accompanied by a detailed track explanation. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime. I am always open to working in new styles and blurring the lines between genres and definitions. Happy listening! |
1. "Sanity" -My most recent piece. I had debated naming this piece "Experiment in Droning," but thought better of it. I very much enjoy exploring the darker elements of sound, especially by placing light, beautiful nuances over the top of an ominous droning underbelly. This piece is a great example of the marriage of light and dark, and the suspense it creates. 2. "Mischievous" - This quick 30-second sample was developed with the fantastic world of Tim Burton in mind. Enjoy! 3. "Inspirational Victory" - This incidental piece was an exploration of victorious growth with a slight French twist towards the end. 4. "Period Piece" - This epic (sans vocals) piece is the accompaniment for a musical number produced by SomethingElseTV. About half-way through, things get more interesting as the piece develops and, eventually, explodes and goes over the top. 5. "Free Will Waltz (Title Theme)" - This piece is the opening credits music for a somber tale of a scientist who brings a robot to life with his own brains. Literally. He is then killed by the machine because of a technical malfunction. |
This selection of songs are from an interactive children's CD-ROM revolving around a child recovering from cancer. I composed the tracks originally to be rendered through the user's MIDI port while a child actor performed a voiceover for the scene. I have recreated their original MIDI sound here for you. 1. "Children" - A child's lullaby. Soft and kind. 2. "A Happy Turn" - A happier theme that played when the child in the story (Nadia) went into remission from her cancer and was able to play with her classmates again. The song was also designed to loop seamlessly so to play continually. 3. "Sad Theme" - This darker theme played when the child in the story (Nadia) became scared or worried about her condition. 4. "What If - End" - This was the closing track to the CD-ROM--a hopeful and jubilant rendition of the "Children" theme that swells to a triumphant conclusion. |
1. "Myspace Girlfriend" - This is a song heralding the joy of Myspace and all the beautiful, unattainable people that are friends with you there. Music and vocals by Joseph Williams, lyrics by Christopher Knapp. 2. "Meek!" - This absolutely epic piece was written and performed for a friend's wedding in 2007. The vocals heard here are not what played at the wedding--but are rather to give the listener an idea what the whole thing sounded like. This is the actual music that was used for the performance. Music and vocals by Joseph Williams, lyrics by Christopher Knapp. 3. "Joe's Voicemail" - This was a fun voicemail message I had on my phone for quite a while. Enjoy! 4. "I Like Them Pretty (DEMO)" - This is a fun 80's-inspired rock number that I have been working on for a little while now. It's still very basic, but lets the real rough and dirty vibe I put into the song's lyrics really shine through in the music. |
